REFUND POLICY

Aroostook County Motorcycle Rider Education operates this program on a non-profit
basis. Our aim is to provide Maine citizens with a quality motorcycle rider education
program at the lowest possible cost. We have collected your tuition fee with the
expectation that you will attend the class. We also realize that plans may change,
often unexpectedly. Your tuition will be refunded under the following guidelines:

  • If we cancel or are otherwise unable to provide your class.
  • If you cancel before noon of the Thursday two weeks before your class (i.e. 15 days in
advance), your deposit will be fully refunded, without question.
  • If you cancel less than fifteen days before the class, your tuition will be fully refunded
only if we are able to fill your place with another full-tuition paying students.
  • If you cancel less than eight days before the class, your tuition will be refunded, less a $25
cancellation fee, only if we are able to fill your place with another full-tuition paying student.
  • If you cancel less than fifteen days before the class, and we are unsuccessful in our attempts
to fill your place, your tuition is forfeited.
  • "No-show" or "late-show" students will always forfeit their pre-payment, even if we have
  • filled the space with another student. "Late-show" is defined as arriving at such time as to have missed a portion of the classroom session where information that appears on the State of
Maine Student Knowledge Test is discussed.
  • Students who are unable to keep up with the pace of the class, (as established by the
Motorcycle Safety Foundation's curriculum and in the judgment of the instructor), or are
unable to control a motorcycle, will be required to drop out of further riding activities.
Reassignment to a later class (at no charge) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

A student may be dismissed from the class, without refund or reassignment, at the discretion
of the instructor, for reasons such as (but not limited to), disruption of the class by actions or
words, failure to or refusal to follow instructions during range exercises, willfully performing an
unsafe act or other similar disregard for the safety of himself/herself or the others in the class.
